I'd love to have backyard hens! The fresh eggs would be wonderful and it would be a great opportunity to teach children about food.

This is important for sustainability. I use manure in my garden and not having 3+ week old eggs from the store is better for everyone.

I believe residents should be able to be self sustainable without having problems from a town council.

I strongly support this progressive initiative to allow people more freedom in agricultural independence.

Excellent for the city. I strongly support chickens and bees in the yards of home owners.

I strongly support raising chickens and bees within city limits. We need to encourage more local agriculture.

I think this is a really wonderful idea that Edmonton should definitely adopt.

I look forward to the time when I can feed my kids healthy, clean eggs along with the garden produce that I already provide.

A healthy, sustainable, resilient city requires a variety of equally healthy, sustainable options in food production, in urban agriculture. Cities smaller and larger than Edmonton have successful laying hens programs - let's move ahead with this option as well.

Family farms are disappearing and more of our food supply is coming from foreign sources. We need to have more options for local food.

Please let Backyard Chickens in the city, so many towns around Edmonton (ie. St. Albert & Morinville) are just waiting for the ok so we can have them too.
