I and my wife (Both seniors) look forward to having some pet chickens in our life. Not only will they contribute eggs to our table and help in our garden to keep down weeds, they also will give us the pleasure of caring for them and interacting with them. We both feel that the addition of these birds will enhance our mental and physical well-being. I have the support of our neighbour's and feel the would not cause any problems in our neighborhood. As a homeowner in our neighborhood for over 40 years I urge our Council to amend Animal Licensing and Control Bylaw 13145 to be amended to allow hens within the City of Edmonton

I am also adding my name asking for Animal Licensing and Control Bylaw 13145 be amended to allow laying hens within the City of Edmonton. My husband & I are seniors who enjoy our urban garden, orchard and believe keeping laying chickens would not only provide us with our eggs, keep us active in our yard all year round, keep weeds down without chemicals, using our hens and allow them to help with the composting of garden & household organic waste. We ask that the City show forward thinking by amending this bylaw to allow laying hens in our progressive City.

I definitely support this program to have backyard chickens for healthy food supply. Significant eatable grain and fruit leftovers in our kitchen could feed the chickens reducing much of the waste for a better environment.

I am supporting this campaign because we used to keep always hens at home in back home.I miss that part here moreover they are easy to take care. The best part is getting organic eggs.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could all develop a greater understanding of our relationship to food?

I am really hoping this program continues to grow. I am currently applying for a license but was informed that all 50 spots are already taken so will be on a waiting list. Really hopeful the city will open it up for more locations. Think it is a wonderful program and am hopeful I will be a part of the collective soon

Hello, my wife and I would like the option to own hens and have access to fresh eggs in the comfort of our own yard.

I would love love love to be able to raise backyard hens in the city. Finding affordable high quality food sources has become so difficult. It would be absolutely amazing to be given the opportunity to raise and "grow" my own eggs. :)

This is long overdue, we are looking forward to the current pilot being expanded!

Can this please be discussed in council and passed? The pilot has gone on long enough to have enough positive data to be able to pass it.
