Rita Dunne for 2L Vice President
Hello everyone! I am back again, this time running for vice president for our class.
While I've only recently become a class rep, the experience working in student government has been so incredibly rewarding and fulfilling. I fiercely advocate for what I believe in, and what I believe in is equity, fairness, respect, understanding, and the awesomeness of our class. During my time as class rep, I have done my best to think about the needs of our class, listen to the concerns of students, do what I can to problem solve (for specific examples, feel free to reach out!), and support our great team of current class officers.
I believe helping others helps ourselves. I moved to Detroit in 2017* where I served a term of AmeriCorps for a SW Detroit non-profit. In 2019 I completed a legal fellowship for women through MI United to assist low-income families through the immigration application process. Since 2018* I've been co-chair of the raffle for Detroit Roller Derby. Before law school I worked providing IT support for all North American divisions of Spectrum Brands Holdings.
If elected I promise to continue to take any qualms, frustrations, ideas, and suggestions with the utmost seriousness. I promise to be upfront and honest in my communications. Lastly, I promise to do my best in this role by keeping the needs and wishes of students to the forefront of my actions as VP.
Thank you, and please feel free to reach out with any questions, concerns, or just wanting to talk!

*My 1L petition stated that I moved to Detroit in 2018, and have been co-chair of the raffle since 2019. I realized later that my year calculating math was off, and am making the correction now.
