Petition for: The Right to Worship

We, the undersigned, urge that you support the effort to allow Churches and Religious Groups equal access to rent spaces from Public Schools. Non-religious groups are allowed to meet in schools for activities central to their missions and religious groups should be allowed to do the same. The exclusion of religious groups is discrimination against religious speech.

Houses of worship strengthens the community. It brings much needed revenue to the DOE and is most often the host of recovery groups, donation drives, food pantries, and many others. Refusing to rent out public spaces because of religion denies our American rights of equal access and is plainly unjust!
