A mix of social and private would by far be the best option for sarsfield heights development

This is an absurd situation for people who are working day and night to save for their own house and ALSO paying for high rental prices and are not only left to the side in terms of social policies made by the government, but also in situations like these. Enough is enough.

It is so not fair that people with very low or no income will get the house for free and those who work hard to make their life better have still to small income to qualify for any mortgage and no help from government to get their forever home.

I have no objection to a significant proportion of the development being allocated to social housing as this is needed. But selling he whole development to respond does little to alleviate the pressures on house prices and repeats historic housing policy failures by not developing integrated communities

Well done for highlighting this issue. Hopefully the public bodies will take note and listen to local residents who work to build sustainable communities.

Social bodies fully funded by the taxpayer are outbidding first time buyers for the few new housing developments in the Cork area. Yes provide social housing for those who genuinely cannot help themselves. But don’t lock out those who pay their way. This can be done with a mixed approach.

This development should not be social housing only .THIS RUNS CONTRARY TO GOVERNMENT POLICY WHICH REQUIRES A BLEND OF OWNERSHIP. This development currently just ghettoises people and creates social problems down the line.Having a mix of social, affordable housing is a healthier option. This is a great location for nurses like me who work in CUH. Staying close to the work place creates less fatigue and additionally help us focus more at work and save lives.

Family member who works in CUH was planning to purchase one of these properties as a first time buyer very disappointed that they are denied this opportunity.

Unfair to pull the wool over the eyes of the people who are living in the area. Give the people who have grown up in the area the right to be able to buy locally.. why do middle men always have to take over and jump on the band wagon to make a profit
