The City and County of San Francisco should be ashamed of themselves. As a place that likes to hold themselves as in the forefront of trans-rights, they need to be held accountable when they are not upholding their own policies.

This is a deeply saddening and disrespectful injustice to this gentleman. I once considered transitioning from FTM but my mother stopped me. I wish I had and should have left Detroit, MI. to do so. My life would have been better as a male. I would have been a "PEACE". The operative word here is "PEACE". This what Mr. James needs on or off the "JOB! As long as a person is doing the job and meeting performance standards, who cares. Some ones gender or race should never have any bearings on whether or not they have a right to work. That needs to change! This country will be full of "HOMELESS PEOPLE" if this continues! Sad Affair! This Country Needs To Grow-Up! It's about Dignity and Respect!

The City and County have a legal obligation to provide these protections. Neglecting those duties can have monetary repercussions for all citizens of the city and county through losing in a lawsuit. But even moreso, transgender people should be treated as full citizens with all the protections and respect that goes with that.

The City and County of SF needs to step up and walk its talk when it comes to protecting employees' gender identity. This man has suffered more than a decade of on-the-job harassment working for SF.

The City and County of San Francisco must fulfill its commitment to protect the rights of trans* residents, visitors AND employees. Moreover, discrimination against trans* employees is fundamentally sex discrimination, & the City makes itself vulnerable to legal action on that basis as well when it fails to protect these employees.

Please allow dignity and respect for transgender people both on and off the job. Start by using their preferred names and pronouns always. Show a little love even if you feel a bit confused, you don't have to fully understand. Just provide a safe and welcoming environment.

Show some humanity ,and support everyone, not just a sector that appear "normal"? who can tell who is a psychopath behind that smiling WASP (seems to be the least persecuted & acceptable sector) face for instance. I thought it was everybody's right to survive by earning a living for themselves and their families. I don't understand how people can still think that we are not all one, that we are not all human, we all bleed, love, die.............eg. every snowflake is unique and beautiful, different, how incredibly special. We are not clones of each other, why would anyone want that. Do the right thing and help Mr James to work in a non-toxic workplace ----you'd give it to your "norm"???? workers.
