A Graceful exit is everyone's right even the mentally ill who are often excluded. No one should have to die in fear and agony. A death should be as perfectly orchestrated as a wedding. We're all gonna die eventually so might as well be done right. Just like you would want to end a job or career on a high note, same should go for ending life on a high note. Society needs to come to terms and make peace with mortality. Death should not be taboo. Life is not harmless and should not be imposed on anyone. No one asks to be born, it's forced upon us so we should at least have a right to exit when we see fit. We should be allowed to decide the time, date, and place of our inevitable death. There needs to be more rational and humane laws for death with dignity in this country if we're going to call this a free and civilized society. It's time death with dignity be recognized and respected for the basic fundamental right it is. Just as we have a right to live well, we should have a right to die well.
