Right the wrong. Sinead O'Connor to host SNL (unless she doesn't want to)
In 1992 Sinead O'Connor tore up a picture of the Pope on Saturday Night Live. It was her simple protest against child abuse. Sinead O'Connor was Ireland's answer to Rosa Parks in the fight against the Church's systematic abuse of children. But the world wasn't ready to hear the message and she was globally destroyed for it. SNL bowed to pressure and O'Connor was marginalised and humiliated. Perhaps she has never recovered. Madonna (pre-children herself) was one of the most vocal denouncers. Let's bring Sinead back to host SNL and celebrate this woman's bravery and highlight the issue and acknowledge that the response to her action was WRONG. It'd be a better world if more "celebrities" had Sinead O'Connor's guts.
