Many of the new restrictions make no sense, other than raising revenue for the Council. Many of the streets with new Permit-Only parking are not even near the town or station. As for reducing Windmill Street parking by Tivoli House to just one hour, bravo! I am now one of many who will no longer visit the town centre regularly to shop. Please see sense and listen to all the feedback.

Why discourage town centre shoppers who also want a bit of a walk by restricting parking to one hour at top of windmill street. My 75 year old father regularly parked here, walked into town to shop and walked back up. Now with the hour restriction, it’s impossible.

Its only the monied people who have driveways. Leith Park Road is 101% residential so no need fr any restrictions. Please remove.

I feel that the parking restrictions should be repeated on signs within each zone as it is easy to fail to spot the restriction signs as you enter the zone. You can apply for a waiver from the restriction on the council website however - https://www.gravesham.gov.uk/home/parking-and-roads/resident-and-visitor-permits/overview/town-centre-controlled-parking-zone

Please review parking restrictions on Dover Road East.
The east end of the street is restricted from 8.30-18.00 Mon-Sat and yet the west end of the street doesn't have restrictions despite it being narrower and on a corner. Please get rid of restrictions so it is like further down the street. There is not enough places to park and a neighbour has even assaulted me because he demands I park in front of my house - but I can't because of these restrictions. It is not a main road, declassify it and remove parking restrictions, please!

I am a permanent resident here with a young daughter. The only option I have for parking is to:
A) Park around the corner, moving my car at 11am and moving it back by 1pm
B) Parking at least 15 minutes walk away and not having to move it (but often carrying a sleeping child from car to home)
C) Paying over £7 per day to park at Parrock St Car Park
D) Buying a season ticket at Parrock St Car Park for at least £1380 (which is still a 5 minute walk away)

I believe the main issue originally was the station. The council have tried to stop commuters parking in streets within walking distance of the station. Hence the hour restriction. However these latest developments - 30 mins only etc - do not appear related to that issue.

Any resident should have a right to a permit- my son has just bought his first home- a small basement flat- for him and his daughter and will have to pay around £1400 per year to park a fair way away from his home - really helpful with a load of shopping and a little girl of 4 to get into the house - please support the residents who are paying enough council tax to you!!
