Let the voters of Racine County decide

The decision should be up to the voters, not only the board. We are the workers and the family members of those who receive care at the facility. Our opinion matters most!!

The elderly are at the bottom of the totem pole. Ridgewood is the best care facility in the county.

I don't know the terms of argument, but as a Catholic priest, I am a strong supporter of Mercy. And those living out the length of their days--and those who love&care for them--certainly deserve to be heard. Ours is a culture where listening is constantly side-swiped by ANYTHING else of importance, typically to those who have money to lose when the unfortunate are given a hearing. Until we reverse course and SERIOUSLY listen again, the white culture of northAmerica will slip/slide into mediocrity...where I guess it belongs. We need to shut tf up. And listen more. THIS from a proud Irish (Catholic).

I visit Ridgewood weekly to pray and bring communion to 10 people. I would hate to see the quality of care of this institution decrease as I have observed in other facilities recently bought by for-profit organizations. Their cost cutting strategies to maximize profits are at the expense of residents which is sad.

I hear such good things about quality of care and my friends with loved ones there are afraid care will be reduced.

How many GOLF COURSES does Racine county own & run ? And are they all run at a profit ? The Racine area politicians want to figure out away to fund a new sports arena for the Milwaukee Bucks "feeder team" - but they won't spend any time or energy to try & figure out how to successfully run Ridgewood at a profit ! The past county boards have managed to run the Ridgewood facility for over 100 YEARS ...NOW the present board ( with exception to Mr.Miller) can't figure out how to be successful in being good managers of this facility ! Its easier for them to just dump the problem off in a sale to a private owner . To me this speaks volumes as to the abilities of these / OUR ( ELECTED) officials to do a job that they were elected to do !! Not to mention their personal MORAL character's . They say that this decision isn't or shouldn't be EMOTIONAL or personal !? .... * BULL$HIT !! ...THIS SHOULD ABSOLUTELY BE PERSONALLY EMOTIONAL... THERE ARE MANY FAMILIES & the CARE OF OUR COMMUNITIES ELDERLY THAT ARE GOING TO BE EFFECTED BY THE SALE OF THIS FACILITY !!! This is way more than just a business decision... THIS IS PEOPLE'S LIVES that are at stake here !!... IF...this sale goes through & the facility doesn't end up being run at as high a level as it is now... WHAT WILL BE THE PATIENTS & THEIR FAMILIES RECOURSE THEN !! I know the county boards answer to THAT question...NOT THEIR PROBLEM ANYMORE !! ...I have ONE QUESTION to any one of the current board members...Do you have or are you going to have an elderly parent or loved one that has or will need specialized nursing care ?? And if you do you WILL SURELY come to realize the EMOTIONAL & PERSONAL VALUE of having a place like RIDGEWOOD as option to help your families at a VERY DIFFICULT TIME OF LIFE !! I'M sorry to have to say this...but you people should get yourselves back to reality & get your heads out of your A$$ES !!.... Its NOT & SHOULDN'T always be about the $$ DOLLARS $$ ... SOM

This is very shortsighted! Let the people decide if they want tax money to support this special place.

Racine residents should be able to vote!

This is too important of a decision to be made without asking the public what they want . Keep things above board and allow us a voice. Thank you for the consideration.

Given the large numbers of Racine County individuals that will be impacted in one way or another by the decision to sell (or not), it seems the residents of the county at large should have input into the decision. Leaving the public comments to the few who are invested enough to make their wishes known now may not reflect the real desires of the larger community. Every voice deserves to be heard on a decision that carries such potential negative impact. Please reconsider and make this a referendum question.

I have GRAVE concerns over a short term financial solution of selling the county home for the sake of current trends. Public ownership serves as a buffer between profit only capitalism and benevolence of a dedicated public group. In weighty decisions such as this, we the people need our voice to be heard.

A privately owned Residential Care Facility has a different motivation than does a publicly owned one.

Several members of my family have utilized Ridgewood and received excellent care. Now, I'm getting close to the time when I may have to take advantage of this facility.

The Racine County Board should place the proposed advisory referendum question on the April 2017 ballot. The facility belongs to the people of the county and they should have a say in the matter.

Both of my parents spent time there. I love the staff and rehab people. Yes to a vote!
