What a great learning opportunity for the neighborhood! Tom is very educated in astronomy and has taught our boys so much about space. His enthusiastic personality is contagious and makes everyone around him excited to learn more!

I lived Richard's Lake for 5 years and saw many delapated back yard structures and some of the ugliest home colors. How can they possibly oppose this? It is like you live in Boulder.

This city will spend thousands of dollars directly out of our pocket to build flower beds to kick out the homeless who previously frequented that area or tear up every major road in the town at the same time when is not the priority or take my right to smoke a cigarette outside of my work... it's shamfull. Even more so when people in the community are trying to better it. This guy is a fire fighter, he would risk his life to save yours. You won't let him build a amazing observatory using only his money. Come on Fort Collins, you use our money in the least productive ways. You are telling me it's a issue for this man who has already given so much to our community he can't build this on his property? Land of the free eh?

Knowing Tom Pickles I can say that this will be a great addition to any neighborhood. With Toms passion for science, specifically astronomy, I can guarantee that it will be done right. Not only will it be a great addition to the neighborhood like I mentioned, but it will provide educational opportunities. How many privately funded sheds, outbuildings or any other hobby that individuals have in your neighborhood actually have that trait? Sometimes common sense takes a backseat to regulations passed by a few individuals who are power hungry. I understand that rules are in place to prevent ridiculous projects that could be built in our neighborhoods, but this isn't one of those. Please take a moment to actually look at what this project could bring to the neighborhood and community, One last thing. We have lost the old neighborhood feel that some of us have grown up with since technology has ruled out social interaction. Wouldn't something like this bring us back to the days where we actually did things face to face? That sounds like a win to me.

Tom is an upstanding citizen of this country who has served our country well, and continues by doing his firefighter duty. He has at least 3 Purple Hearts!!! This observatory would be an awesome addition to the neighborhood, and it's not like he's asking for ANY money from the contesting person or the HOA.

Why in the world would this be a bad thing? You have a daughter that would benefit from the educational opportunity having this will provide. I can just picture her science class, her girl scout and brownie troups learning awsome things at your house!
