What kind of a festivities would you have with no people? Are you givin the parking ticket money to the found raising ? If your unswer is NO you should never give parking tickets to any of the events.

With all the police presence at this event they should have guided people not to use this area for parking. Any notice or signs from the city would also have assisted. There were hundreds of cars parked in the “area of the park not designated for parking” and the city knew the cars were going to park there. Where is the city’s sense of community when it comes to supporting events like this? I would not have parked there had I had any indication this area was not to be used. Very disappointed in the City of Toronto.

This was very inequitable and unjust. Officers directed traffic away from one lot And in to another area. So everyone followed suit. Every year parking is on " non parking lot permisses." Why is this area different then the area they blocked off?

I am not a social media user or expert, how can we increase awareness of this petition? I don't think many people know that this petition exists.
Bryn P., thank you for your message on behalf of the Toronto Ribfest, but honestly, I would expect more from your organization. Your disappointment does not cut it. Check Susan James communication, that is a great example of due diligence to fix this problem. Your organization should learn from this and do more.

The massive ticketing was an outrageous practice and it should serve as a learning experience to Toronto residents to not support local activities in the future. Especially if they are so poorly planned.
