The type of development being proposed (High Urban Density) is not consistent nor compatible with the medium density single family lots currently in this neighborhood. As a result, we do not have the infrastructure in place to support this planned development. Adequate roads, lighting, signage, sidewalks, etc that are needed are not in place and there is currently no mention of these needs in the annexations/re-zoning plan. The current plan is a very poor one that does not meet the needs of this community. Let's create a plan that is workable for everyone.

Please no huge high density building ! Please don’t destroy the beauty wildlife and quality of living here. Please consider an already overwhelming amount of traffic and zero infra structure to support all the traffic. Please we need a bike path around the lake sidewalks and cross walks with lights. No to this development.

Lake Stevens cannot continue to allow developers to build homes on these postage stamp size lots and drastically increase the vehicles on our already overcrowded roads. The city council needs to be less concerned with increasing tax revenue and more with the soul of our town. I have lived here my entire life and it makes me sad to drive by a new housing development with almost now front or back yard and a driveway that is too short to park on. The council's job is to serve the people living in Lake Stevens and make decisions that benefit us. Not to make our live more difficult with longer commutes and over crowding our schools.
Yes, Lake Stevens will and should continue to grow but in a way that improves the lives of it's citizens. The council should demand minimum lots sizes that would allow children or pets to have a backyard to play in and enough space between houses to provide privacy. I love living in Lake Stevens and have no desire to live in any other city. That is why I moved back to Lake Stevens after the military and was lucky enough to purchase a starter home with a yard. In a few years, my family will outgrow our home and will need to upgrade. Unfortunately, the current trend of building that the city allows may force me to leave Lake Stevens to find a home that will not take the experience of playing a backyard to play in from my daughters. Other families should not have to make the same choice and new families may not choose to move to Lake Stevens for the same reason.
All things must change but we should guide that change in a direction that improves the lives of ourselves and our neighbors.

21 years ago my late wife and I moved into 730 Rhodora Heights RD. We loved the quiet, friendly neighborhood. We both understood growth would happen and it has. Yet the roads and other infrastructure has not. Adding a High Density housing area will cripple our present system. If you hate traffic on the trestle now just wait. With all the other housing areas going up I estimate up to 7,000 more cars each rush hour. NO ANNEXATION!

Our roads cannot handle any more volume. They are already beyond capacity. Annexation will not solve any of the major and urgent issues we currently face. Annexation produces wasteful spending and does not benefit the people. We have what we need now. Many years ago I voted for a Kirkland annexation and it was the biggest mistake, full of regrets and broken promises from the city. Our family moved to Lake Sevens to get away from things like this. Our roads need attention first, before we even start talking about density. Sign the petition so we can all sit down and talk about what really matters most. Annexation will eventually get here but let's try and hold it off for another decade or so.

After becoming fully aware of the real intentions for the annexation, I am FULLY AGAINST annexation into the City of Lake Stevens. If it was an option, I would gladly rescend my signature for the annexation.

I commute to Seattle an hour and a half each way just to live in Lake Stevens. Don’t turn our wholesome community into Everett please. Our growth rate is just fine as it is and traffic is already bad.
