Honorable Members of Congress: You now have a unique opportunity to do something about our massive overpopulation problem in the country. We now have more than ninety four million people living in our nation. The twelfth largest population in all the world. Countries like Canada and Spain with far more land and resources than we do have barely half our population. There is already a severe lack of food, jobs, and other necessities for these ninety four million people. If no one acts now to curb this problem this will soon balloon to more than a hundred million! We cannot wait for another generation or even congress to pass before acting. This needs to be done now. The bill would give everyone more options to plan for their future. Some people may not know what choices there are when it comes to family planning. We must let everyone choose for themselves what methods they want to use. Our children and younger siblings must also be educated about the reproductive process and how to avoid getting pregnant. Yes we do have this at schools. But we still see street children barely out of puberty, already pregnant. Yet another generation condemned to live in poverty thru our inaction. We are aware of the intense pressure put upon you by the Catholic Church and other organizations and individuals who oppose the RH bill. We know that you face being excommunicated or being labeled a terrorist. But the day that the Church can dictate what the country does is over. Yes, we are a Catholic nation, but we do not all belong to the faith. We are Protestants, Muslims, Catholics, and every other imaginable faith. Most of all we are Filipinos. We want what is best for our country. We pray for you elected officials to take a stand for the benefit of the country. Use the power that has been entrusted in you to fight for our rights. Please support the RH bill. Sign this petition and support the RH bill. With enough signatures we can get this to congress and the senate and show them the Filipino people support the RH bill. One million signatures for change!
