DEMOLISH PDAF AND PASS FOI BILL: A call to the Executive and Legislative branches of our Philippine Government There is NO other perfect time to abolish the PDAF and pass the FOI Bill but…NOW. We are calling the attention of the highest ranking officer of our land to be true to his promise to his people whom he called his “BOSS”- demolish PDAF now. Hear the clamor of your people and heed the basic social needs of your people – quality education, health, shelter to name a few. The pork barrel system mocks the constitutional mandate of a public office which states, “Public office is a public trust. Public officers and employees must at all times be accountable to the people, serve them with utmost responsibility, integrity, loyalty , and efficiency, act with patriotism, justice, and lead a modest lives.” It advances and promotes control of one branch over the other, thus, renders the separation of powers among the three branches of the government useless and meaningless. It encourages “padrino”system and enforced the wrong notion of the majority of the constituents that it is a “utang na loob” should their community or they themselves are recipient of the priority project of their congressman/senator. The PDAF has done no good to the country in general, thus, it should be totally abolish without any delay. To our legislators, pass the FOI Bill now. What’s stopping you from doing this? If you are true to your oath of office and have nothing to hide then there is no reason of delaying this bill to be passed and enacted as a law. This is the high time to do it. TRANSPARENCY in all branches of our government is a MUST. The trust and confidence of the people towards the government has continued to deplete and will continue to deplete. Act now before it is too late. I am urging all Filipinos to join me in this cause. Let our voices be heard, sign now!
