I object to the to the rezoning petition for the primary reason of the increase in cut through traffic on Preston Lane and Jefferson Drive the redevelopment will bring. These are basically country roads within the city, barely wide enough for 2 cars to pass, without any sidewalks and with ditch drainage. They are currently not safe roads for pedestrians because there is no option other than walking in traffic lanes. The proposed redevelopment will amplify the cut through traffic and the hazard to pedestrians.

No to any form of rezoning. I don't believe this zoning request is consistent with the surrounding neighborhoods zoning, which makes this area highly desirable.

High density dwellings are not in keeping with the neighborhood.

It’s clear by the comments that like 97% of the people on here have no idea about any of the details associated with this rezoning nor could they say where the actual property in question is located. Pretty sad actually.

No to rezoning! Why bother having zoning regulations at all if we are going to change them on a developer's whim? We need to stick to what we have already decided for this area, and not cave in just for extra tax dollars.

Please do not rezone this parcel.
Changing it to high density residential adds more traffic, threatens to overpower our existing infrastructure, and destroys green space of which Charlotte is so proud. I like living in Charlotte because it's not like Atlanta. Let's not make it that way.

I live near Sardis Lane and Providence Road, which is already highly impacted. Charlotte City needs to partner with NCDOT for any proposed growth needing access to Providence or we will all be trapped. Proposed projects include Aldersgate at Shalom Park (2019-040); expansion of Lansdowne Elementary to allow 25% larger enrollment, commercial development of private tennis court at Sardis Lane & Providence to include grocery, restaurants & office building; development of NW corner of Fairview & Providence; and many more. The city must not consider these as discreet rezoning applications but must consider total impact along Providence Road and on trees, water, sewer and quality of life for residents.

Increased traffic density alone should be enough to stop this project.

Expansion is against the reality of what we go though every day,Providence can not handle the traffic now. and you want to change the density ratios,it makes no sense . You h ave no plans for today's problems but your plan considering to ignore them and just add on,how does that make any sense.

We have enough traffic and high density developments will just add to the problem and will ultimately be bad for home values and the neighborhood appeal.

Providence road is already at capacity. I live in Old Salem and most days it takes at least 5 minutes to get out of our neighborhood. We have to wait for the red light at JCC to turn red and most days that is not even enough. The school buses can't get out of Landsdowne. Eventually we will have no land space or trees or green anything. There will just be more buildings and construction and running wild life out of their homes. Charlotte is at capacity to as far as I can see. We don't need more housing. We need to provide a safe and healthy place for the people who already reside here and not bring in more.

This is unnecessary and will add higher risk of more accidents, and remove more of the trees and land which will increase flooding issues. Providence Road is at full capacity already.

Stop high density development. Keep Charlotte livable, keep it desirable ,don’t allow developers who only want to make a quick buck forge our future. The people of this city are more important than mass/ random construction. Learn from the mistakes of other cities. Growth can be good but also destructive.

I agree with this petition. The proposed density and the current, at-the-limit, traffic level on Providence Road, make this unsuitable for this location.

Way too much traffic and changes to the area
