After 17 years living in Lucan we moved last August to Maynooth. However due excellent schools etc we have kept the boys in school here. Walking is no longer a viable option and particularly in bad weather parking at the school is a necessity. Over residential zoning was 1 reason we moved from Lucan and more apartments are the last thing that road needs.

Mount Bellew residents are gravely affected by the parking issues caused by the School. Parents are blocking residents in getting out from their home at least 3 times in a day (minimum) which lasts for 30 mins. This is already causing havoc. So NO...NO to have more houses in this area. Let's hope SDCC will rezone it for Community purposes. We are badly in need of parking / drop-off facilities for LETNS especially after New blocking in place between Mount Bellew and the nearby estates.....

There is no safe drop off area for children attending this school. A drop off zone on this land would also alleviate traffic congestion for Mount Bellew residents. Furthermore, families walking to school would feel safer as there is a clear point of turn around/safe area to stop. We DO NOT need more houses in Lucan. We need infrastructure to support the already heavily populated area.

Most of the other primary schools in the area have proper drop-off facilities e.g. local Gaeleagrus schools and new Educate Together school located next to them. Present arrangements are a danger to children and residents.

A safe place for parents to park when dropping their kids to school, a green area for children to play, a playground within walking distance of all the residential areas nearby, all much better uses for this space rather than cramming in more houses / apartments.
