This Minneapolis 2040 Plan is misguided if not worse unduly influenced by corporate developers.

This proposal is one of the worst ideas I’ve ever seen come through the city of Mpls. If it passes, I will be the first to move out after over 20 years of city residency. Please listen to the people on this one.

Schools are a crucial component of planning for increased with families. This plan had not been crafted with the MPS schools.

While I am sensitive to the housing cost issue , the present plan is without sensible protection of existing homeowners. This is NOT your typical "nimby" argument. Homes are the major investment for most people, and a new 4-plex next door would be a substantial financial loss - and an aesthetic loss.

I am not opposed in principle to targeted density; I am opposed to rezoning everywhere for density.

This concept for increasing affordable housing has noble origins, but it seems to have been coopted by development interests, and applied too indiscriminately to neighborhoods. Needs work...

Please reconsider this process and integrate systematic neighborhood input which is clearly evident in the follow-up plan. Until this key piece is done, city members will not support this. This is hard work, thank you for taking into account these legitimate points of view lodged in years of living in and investing ourselves in this city.

This plan is about density not affordability. Development will happen too haphazardly with this plan. There are no details on how transit and other infrastructure will be expanded to support this. More dense development near Calhoun destroys what people love about the lakes. And the traffic there is already bottle-necked with minimal transit options. There is no cohesive vision in this plan. Development will be too controlled by developers. And from what many citizens have seen so far, quality and aesthetics have not been emphasized by some developers. The plan needs re-writing please. You can do much better than this. I agree with this petition.

The Plan’s objective is unclear (is it affordable housing or density?) and there are NO design requirements so it The will be developments that look the same everywhere—and likely just cheaply done. This plan will ruin the character of our city while not clearly delivering the affordable housing we need. What about aggressive inclusive zoning laws for every neighborhood to solve?
