Do not destroy beauty when we have whole sections of residential Minneapolis that would BENEFIT from new development... improving those areas in need, which are also close to downtown, have space that needs tear down and rebuild and have schools which would have positive gain from having commited home owners.

I believe we should have greater diversity in housing stock and zoning with careful oversight and restrictions on developers. I believe we need affordable housing, especially owner-occupied housing in more neighborhoods with subsidies for low income residents. 2040, as it stands now, does not achieve these goals without significant amendment. We need a city wide referendum for such a significant plan.

The 2040 plan as it stands is gentrifying and NOT the direction in which I'd like the City to go!

This plan needs is over simplified such that the possibility of 4 plexes 3 blocks in on so called “through” streets 6-8 blocks apart turns the entire neighborhood into high density. You will have family flight to suburbia. NOT a mix of housing.

I agree with the concerns outlined in in the petition. Please take community comments into consideration for a 10-year plan to ensure those of use who have invested decades in this city have a voice.

Comments are well taken.

The plan will not accomplish the goals it sets out to accomplish, but instead will decimate neighborhoods. If this plan is enacted the damage will be irrevocable. I concur with every portion of this petition.

Don't put developers first. Homeowners are the core of the city. The corridor plans are awful and will kill our neighborhoods.

This is not the way to keep families in the City and City schools.

A concern I have is that this plan will weaken strong and stable neighborhoods by introducing housing situations that accommodate transient renters who do not necessarily have an investment or concern for the neighborhood they’ve moved into. Developers and building owners have little interest in investing any more than they have to into their properties. This weakens strong neighborhoods, lower property values and increases city costs and resources. It is a very faulty plan. Please cease and desist.

If you want to hasten the downward spiral of the democratic party, this will certainly help. Rework this plan!

The petition says it all. Minneapolis 2040 is not a good plan in its current form.

This "dream plan" for developers will NOT benefit the people living in these neighborhoods, now or in the future. The increased housing density gained will not make it affordable for the majority of the population (or for us to sell and downsize) in the future. I'm not opposed to more density, but this plan needs LOTS OF WORK!

The plan doesn't appear to be well thought out. Not enough emphasis on quality construction or zoning improvements.

The plan would destroy one of the gems of the city - its residential neighborhoods

I’m opposed to increased density and most of all rezoning. Please go back and rethink it with the community in mind.
