This plan needs revising with citizen involvement from all parts of Minneapolis. Developers should have the least say-so in the plan.

The wording of this petition reflects my sentiments entirely: The mayor and City Council are anti-family and pro developer.

I own a duplex in NE Mpls and I get at least 2 realtors a week asking to buy my place. I own a double wide lot and my guess is that they want to tear down a perfectly fine rental and put up a 4-6 plex. Not sure that would benefit the neighbors.

Our neighborhood voices need to be heard before a plan like this is put into effect, as we are all unique. One consideration is aging baby boomers with large homes that are looking for smaller starter homes that would be targets for the wrecking ball. We don’t have adequate public transportation to service the plan, and traffic and parking would be a nightmare. Most importantly, we need to spend time jointly creating a plan that would benefit all, not just the developers. I have lived in Minneapolis all my life and do not want to be driven out now.

Great plan for developers...maybe they can tear down the SW MacMansions and replace them with more 1960's 2 1/2 story (or six story) crackerbox apts?? Any thought to subdividing large lots to build small houses as starter homes? Or is home-owning now "outdated" and all of us will be required to pay constantly rising rents to absentee landlords?

Providing a more balanced solution to this plan is critical. Please listen to us citizens.

the arrogance of the planners to say that a plan that has not worked anywhere before will work here is astounding.

2040 needs to be re-worked. More density is possible while maintaining the integrity of mostly single family neighborhoods.

I disagree with the changes to neighborhoods made in this plan. I would like to retain more green space close to the lakes, keep building heights lower in Uptown and other neighborhoods outside downtown and retain the character of neighborhoods that are now primarily single family homes and predominantly residential.

This will ruin neighborhoods just for the city to make more $ it's all about $ in the end. Minneapolis is diverse now so it's not the real reason. This is such a horrible idea. Please come up with a plan that is not going to drive people out of the city. Mpls you need the home owners you have now

This plan is meant to increase the tax base for the city by encouraging density. The point of investing in LRT was I allow individuals to commute, not create a corridor for high rise condo buildings.

I am impressed at how few Minneapolis residents know the magnitude of the Minneapolis 2040 plan. I don't think the consulting group who were hired to get the information distributed did what they were hired to do. Maybe they attended a lot of events etc. but they have missed significant portions of the population (on purpose or poor planning?). This plan is too important to be 'okayed' without better communication and less 'we know what's best' attitude. And why aren't multifamily homes that are rental considered commercial since they are a 'for profit' venture ? And why aren't these multifamily homes being built where the jobs are?

Increased density must follow an improved public transit system, not preceed it.

A great petition that would be most beneficial to every citizen in the cities would be one to fire the Met Council. They are the root of everyones problem except all of their developer friends ,who given the opportunity , would destroy every park and neighborhood in our city!
