I am also concerned about leaving so much of the plan to the control of the marketplace, and no concrete economic analysis of infrastructure and other costs to achieve the plan’s stated goals.

This petition reflects my thoughts and concerns as I observe the frantic pace of construction, increasing density with no regard for the many issues outlined in this petition. Please reconsider the elements of this plan that will hurt our communities.

I am. 61 and was born in Minnespolis. I have lived near Cedar Lake for the last 40 years. I am a retired real estate attorney with rental properties, and I am a family owner of a building on the Nicollet Mall that holds 3 restaurants and three office tenants. I care deeply about this city. The 3049 plan is horrible and dangerous. It would ruin our great city. It’s wrong on so many levels! Please do the right thing and send it back to the drawing board.

This plan will destroy out beautiful neighborhoods- it must be stopped!

The plan has no neighborhood backing, at least where I live. We believe that the savings that elderly people like me have in the equity of our homes will erode!!

Increases in density and height should be thoughtfully considered for each neighborhood.....

This plan is unthinkable for a progressive city which has always valued respect and community. community and respect

One size does not fit all

The 2040 plan is not one size fits all. It must include neighborhood input from groups like CIDNA.

I am a homeowner on 37th and Bryant south. I oppose the proposed apartment building on 36th and Bryant to be built. The parking is already unbearable to homeowners who do not have off street parking, yet we have the taxes to pay on those spots don't we? This will further glut our neighborhood and parking ability. This 2040 plan will be glutting our beautiful city of lakes and greenery with high rises for what?

How can you possibly hope to support this density with a public transit system that hasn't changed since the demise of streetcars in 1954? And no, Southwest LRT won't do it because its proposed route completely bypasses areas where large numbers of Minneapolis folks actually live.

Where are the children in this plan? The schools? Options for those with disabilities (no cars- really? not everyone can bike). Why were homeowners not consulted?

Vote these people out of office if they support this!
