This "plan" is a rebuke and an insult to every resident who thought he/she had a voice in this city.

I strongly oppose the plans for the central west parts of the city. I strongly oppose the concept of putting high density housing in neighborhoods currently without it. I believe there are other places to put such housing that will not cause the loss of economic vibrancy and income flight that the current plan ensures.

This plan arrogantly dismisses the intelligence and thoughtfulness of the community that lives and invests here. This city is not an accident - listen to our ideas. Your choice is to be a pariah by pushing this plan through or a hero for reworking a transparently purchased ideal. Think about that.

Its a confused and muddled proposal. Nobody is going to be helped by it but developers and politicians. It should be scrapped or at least tabled till after next municipal elections.

The word "dystopia" comes to mind as I travel south on Lyndale Ave. during my evening commute, trying to imagine both sides fronted with 6 story cookie cutter buildings as far as the eye can see...no thanks!

The urban landscape and culture is enriched by creative homeowners who create small gardens, garden boulevards and who encourage neighbors to interact with one and other and invite people from all over the city to stroll our streets and smell the flowers.

I do not support this version of the 2040 plan. It should be reworked so it not overly aggressive against single family neighborhoods.

Many aspects of this plan seem to “ get ahead “ of the existing infrastructure. Would like to see more emphasis on newer ideas like ADU’s and micro/ tinyhouse zoning and development.
And a fiscal impact analysis. Who are the fiscal winners and losers?

I oppose the 2040 plan for all the reasons stated above. I love my neighborhood. To destroy it’s character with a single plan blanketing the city, without regard for the uniqueness of each neighborhood, infrastructure issues, and meaningful input from its residents, is indefensible. This drastic of a plan should be voted on by its citizens, as it seems like the elected officials represent the businesses rather than its consistents

It does not address any real affordable housing. More high rise density does not equal affordable. After the meeting this week, I would agree with the speaker that said “ we just trust the city” - varaiances are given consistently over neighborhood concerns.

The rezoning is drastic and draconian in its size and scope. We are going to destroy the overall makeup of our neighborhoods.

The Minneapolis 2040 plan needs to be renamed. What you have proposed, if named honestly, is the destroy Minneapolis by 2040 plan. You are silencing your neighbors, silencing the neighborhoods, and only seeking to enrich investors, developers, and speculators, all at the expense of a beautiful, neighborly, once livable city. Shame on the Minneapolis city council for pushing this terrible, disastrous, mean-spirited, and numbingly avaricious plan.
This plan is designed to benefit builders.
