Do NOT move forward with the 2040 plan. There are too many unanswered questions. Rushing is a mistake. I moved to this city because of what it offers. Don't take away what strengthens us.

The worst plan, bureaucrats wanting to feel good vs studying economics and city planning. I'll vote with my feet!!

Minneapolis 2040 is a dream plan for developers, it is about money not quality of life.

I do not agree with this plan. I moved here two years ago into a lovely neighborhood and would not have done had I known about this plan. It will destroy what I love about the city. DO NOT RUIN MY NEIGHBORHOOD WITH YOUR REZONING PLAN!!

This borders to be dubious at best with regard to claiming this process to be about “affordable” housing”.

Fourplex apts. & condos need to be restricted to commercial zones and transit corridors that are not primarily residential.

A poorly thought out plan with little input from the MHFA or Greater Minnesota Housing another groups doing affordable housing projects

I am frightened enough by the sudden, thoughtless, autocratic utterances and shifts in policy in Washington that make me fear for our democracy . I feel similarly afraid and helpless in the face of this too sudden shift that affects everyone who lives in and loves this city. We greatly fear the consequences. Please respect that and pull back so we can all take a careful look at what should be done.

Elderly residents need parking space. We do not want lawns replaced by concrete for parking.

I absolutely do NOT support this "already done already massively failed plan". Why repeat a plan that has massively failed for other cities. Listen to your constituents. We DON'T WANT this. Government absolutely does not know better, we residents do.

In addition to what the petition states, I'm concerned about how our neighborhood schools will be able to accommodate the higher density that this will create, and fear that it will only push more families to send their kids to private schools...This isn't good for community building, or school budgets. I'm also wondering where all of these folks are going to park. Uptown is a disaster from this perspective, and it's only going to get worse the way things are going. Despite what the city wants, folks don't ride the bus or their bikes nearly as much as you the city thinks, and our neighborhood streets are filling up quickly.

We have some uniquely beautiful neighborhoods and housing stock, with neighborhoods that are unique nation-wide. While not sufficiently "historic" to be preserved, the replacement of these homes with cheaper materials, would destroy the character of this city, and repopulate beautiful neighborhoods with dwellings made for a quick profit without concern for the fabric of neighborhoods or their aesthetics. This plan would rip apart the unique fabric of our city with indiscriminately applying multi-family housing zoning, even in areas that have mixed use and function housing already.

We grew up in this city and this plan is going to wipe out the character that makes Minneapolis such a great city. Please stop this plan and allow more time for input, especially from those of us who actually live here and stand to lose the most. This plan will destroy Minneapolis.

I am very concerned that the 2040 Plan has 1.) Not been vetted appropriately 2.) Does not ensure affordable housing and 3.) Does not take into consideration logistical factors such as parking. I am appalled that a smart city like Minneapolis would push forward such a plan. Shame on us if we allow this to go forward.

I know that the planners are hoping to make the city a better place, with more affordable housing but this plan will not work. It will, in a few years, do the opposite. I am an historian and have studied and see plans like this tried and they never work. Please don't. This is a terrible idea.

please change this plan to be more neighborhood friendly, with local voice in defining where high density housing is zoned!!

Quit trying to ruin our city. It's not one small group of people, it's we the people.
