I truly believe they should be focused on other things when it comes to DPS

IF YOU don't have enough people to vote,why is it UP FOR debate!!!! The kids have suffered enough!!!

Powell is a great coach who cares about the kids. I'm an alumni. I don't have any children but I watch hi interact and nurture those boys. They need a positive role model. Someone they trust

This isn't fair to our coach and us players. The board is really going to hear our voice.

Definitely deserves a revote with all evidence presented and ALL board members present. These kids deserve a great season and their well deserved scholarships.

Coach Powell is a great man, father, coach and so much more! He has changed the football program tremendously especially for a lot of young men. My nephew Joseph Scates will be a Senior this year and he deserves everything that coach Powell can give him. I truly believe this issue should be addressed

Make it fair not all board members voted we want our coach mr powell not body could ever take his place his is very involved in this childrens education and as well as their future period

I didn't attend Dunbar back in high school. Not do I have children of age that attend Dunbar. However, I do have friends that are affected by the decision that was made. I've heard nothing but great things about this coach and his team, and much sweat, dedication, and tears he has invested into the lives of these young men. He have invested so much into these men that these men are ready to give up football for there senior year if they don't serve under his leadership. Now that's very Noble of them do, but why should they be forced to make a decision like that??? I feel this vote should be reconsidered, because it doesn't just affect the coaching staff it affects everyone that's connected to them. These young men have worked very hard to get where they are today, and they didn't arrive there by themselves. Behind every player are good coach's, mentors, leaders etc. Reinstate this coach do he can continue to give 100%.

The Athletic director and administration at DPS is not only getting rid of a coach who has supported Dunbar his entire life but also comes back as a man from our community and gives to these young men his dedication blood sweat and tears to help them grow as young me and not only appreciate the love and understanding of football but how to be stand up men in the community. I saw in a meeting these young players in tears. This is more than a team, this is family. Shame would be on the system for breaking trying to break their spirits and divide this team and community. If anything administration should be trying to bridge gaps and support coach Powell as he is guiding our next generation of men. Not tear him down...but politics as usual right?!?!? #teampowell

Dps I understand your decision but let's be fair all the way across the board!!! Let him finish what he has already started or else the kids will be running to other schools!! This is not fair to the kids who are close to him

The kids really need there coach. Please let's find a different way to handle this situation and not make the kids suffer . No one is perfect we are ALL HUMAN . Let's keep the coach in and find a different way...

Darran Powell is a heat coach and roll model. He gives 110% to the kids and they look up to him.
