Coach Darren is not only a coach but is like family to us all. Each person grew different relationships with him that helped them do better if already wasn't . Coach Darren push those boys to their greatest because he knew they were capable and great individuals.

Although my son does not attend Paul Laurence Dunbar High School I am a graduate from the class of 1997! I do have a nephew and other kids that attend my alma mater who are directly affected by this sudden coaching change! I am well aware of the things that have gone on in the past at my alma mater but I am a huge supporter of Darren Powell and staff! I really feel like it is unfair to take these young men who have given their all in the classroom and on the field such a sudden change in Direction! I believe if this change was going to be made it should have been made months ago which would have given these kids and their parents opportunity to make the best decision for their futures!

Darren Powell has done a excellent job with not just coaching these young men, but he also have a great report with them. someone they trust, someone they can talk to someone they look up to as a father figure taking him away would be like taking their father from them.

My husband was a coach for West Carrollton so I support this young man to be able to be Dunbar's coach I believe, in supporting our children. He is an mentor as well as an father figure in these young men's life and other young men whom will cross his path.. It takes a village for our children of tomorrow..
