Darran Powell has truly cared and nurtured those young men that are apart of Dunbar football program. Darran and the rest of the football staff has turned that program around and I would hate to see him be snatched away from the children and what he is passionate about doing.

This has got to be thee worst thing they could have done do you realize how much DPs will lose because of this look at the # of student athletes are going d-1 or even in to college from the culture he has brought to dunbar

As a Dunbar graduate, it is important that we have a great man such as Powell to continue the amazing work with our youth. Our community is in need of a stand up man such as himself.

I'm totally against Mr. Powell being fired 5 1/2 weeks before the season. When he did what was instructed for him to do!!! And that person still has a job!!

You can't punish one person, for which his actions was done solely out of trust of a person in a higher position that gave the ok. Everybody involved should see the same date or punishment. Sad really, Darran Powell does a really phenomenal job with the kids. You higher up people need to look at the big picture, it's about the kids!!

The decision was just unfair!!! Instead of pointing the finger at one person all should have been punished not just one! The most important thing is these kids! They have literally cried at the thought of losing him as a coach! Does this not mean anything? This man has put everything into kids! Late nights early mornings, college trips, camps etc to make sure they have the essentials to have a great season and college career! I know first hand! There is no other coach who is going to put in the work and dedication that he has! He has mad this team family, stands as a father figure to many of the kids.. this will be a huge loss for not only the kids but Dunbar as well!!

So tragic...but the Dayton school board is riddled with corruption and butt kissing favoritism. Let that man continue to do his job. This is yet another attempt to destroy our black men...to destroy what little village we have left.
