I can remember one particular visit to the Victoria Theatre with my mum as a child. May Day March was on. I think it was a war movie. Would have been late 50s!

Definitely a worthwhile restoration! I have happy memories of great performances on stage in this fine former theatre in the 1950’s and 1960’s.

Situated in the revived Newcastle CBD, this historic theatre merits being revived, and restored to it its role as a living theatre venue and cultural site, activating community and adding to tourism potential. I support the restoration as it will also generate significant experience in restoration skilling in the process, value adding to this significant industry sector. This is not just a local project, it has significance for the state and Australia as a whole, It will return the investment!

This stunning theatre must be saved!
The building is already there and far cheaper to restore than rebuild. It is a much needed venue for the Newcastle community.
It would be criminal to stand by and see it crumble.

Newcastle’s heritage is fast disappearing. If we are to be of any value as a tourist destination we need to preserve our heritage buildings .

Newcastle is one of the most incredible places on earth. This city has so much potential. Having this theatre back will be a game changer for this city with it being able to host the biggest concerts and stage shows. Newcastle theatre needs this theatre open more so now than ever. Having this theatre open means a more affordable venue for companies to hire out and a chance to survive and make money rather than being in the black from another big over priced theatre . BRING BACK THE VIC
