MESS FEES is being forcibly charged from students when they are not consuming food in the campus. Since lockdown announcement everything is being done online from our respective homes. Still they are charging us for electricity, water, internet. Complete deduction of electricity, water and internet charges is demanded in addition to reduction of Mess fees. Forcibly the authorities are taking mess fees from PhD scholars who have not been served by any mess staffs since April 2020 till today so that the authorties can pay salary to mess staffs. What kind of justice is going on in this institute...its really shocking!!!!

Fees should be deduct. As we all are in home so no need to take extra charges for hostel and tuition fees.

I am hereby disappointed to see a reputable "Institute of National Importance" like IIT Kharagpur is charging for mess fees and Hall Establishment Charges, Electricity ,Water and Internet Connection charges in the situation of a Pandemic COVID-19 where we won't be present in the hostels.This is absolutely utter nonsense!
I request the HMC officials to see the overall situation and make a conclusive decision.

The mess and hostel charges should be relaxed for this semester as no student is available on- campus to avail those facilities. I support these petition completely.

Why should I pay hostel fee if I'm not staying at hostel. And I should get refund of March and April month mess bill as I left the college on March 5.Its completely a big scam/fraud to force the students to pay for the next semester which is going to be online mode.

I was not in the hostel from march still i didn't get the refund and even they are charging me.more
