I do look forward to hearing if a review would be possible. The evidence on this is becoming clearer than it was 8 years ago.

I am concerned about screen time and ability to control iPad use as well as gaming addictions that can stem from students having a personal device so young. A review seems worthwhile.

I am an ex parent- our children were at the beginning of the program. What a nightmare-
Children were playing fornite / seeing pornography whilst learning. I work in addictions and devices are damaging their brains. No devices / school controlled is the best way moving forward

As a paediatric neuropsych I believe the evidence for safe and effective learning for this model is sincerely lacking. In contrast the evidence for risks of increased screen time is well established

My younger sisters have had far more iPad use than I ever did and I am grateful I avoided it because from what I can see it’s resulted in a lot of addiction and anxiety. I know there is a lot of good to learn on there but it can wait till they’re older.

I’m very concerned about the over use of iPads in primary learning, I would rather them learn the basics of reading, writing, maths, art and critical thinking without a screen to then apply to tech when they have the maturity and development. It is too addictive and hard to monitor

I think the later children spend time on iPads the better - especially from my personal experience of one of my older children being traumatised by severe bullying online.
On top of that I’m very concerned about their eye and neck health.

Well done for starting this petition! Very keen to see a swing away from screens at schools given all the solid research now about the harm

In full support of this petition – I believe most parents are interested in reducing kids’ screen time rather than integrating a device so intrinsically into their learning programme in primary school.

The last thing my son needs is more screen time in his life.
I would also like to see more paper based activities that can be done at home instead of just screen related as we use the screens for other purposes.

The children are too young for that technology.

Managing screen addiction is a major parenting challenge made far more diffiicult by requiring an always/available device.

I have never understood why the students had to BYOD for this program. It should be the school who always has and always will provide the iPad devices, ensuring they stay at school after hours.

Good luck. Such a shame our kids had to be the guinea pigs. The program has been a big disappointment.

Wsps needs to explain how they manage the risk of students bringing inappropriate content (for example explicit movies, music videos, songs or photos in their camera roll) on their personal iPads and showing it to other children at school?
