I urge the council to make a minor amendment to the resident parking restrictions on Tregarvon Road that would make a huge difference to residents of the Road.

I propose bringing the hours of operation forward by one hour from 9.30am to 8.30am.

Bringing the restrictions forward by one hour would allow residents to operate in the morning without either being unable to park or move their cars.

Background

Due to being one of the only roads off Clapham Common North-side that does not directly link Clapham Common North-side to Lavender Hill, Tregarvon Road has traditionally been a quiet residential street. However, the councils 2011 consultation on 'turning right' off Clapham Common North-side found that Tregarvon Road should not be included as a 'no right turn' road. That, coupled with the fact that the Road is positioned between Eaton House, Parkgate, Belleville Forthbridge Site and Wix schools, means that the Road has become the road of choice for parents dropping off their children in the morning.

As such between 8am and 9.30am, during term time, residents find it very difficult to park in designated C3 resident parking bays on the road.

Aim of this petition

Wandsworth council have said that if enough residents show their support then they are happy to review the current parking restrictions.

Updates

February 4, 2013

Seeing the momentum behind this proposal is humbling because it confirms that I am not the only one feeling the weight of the morning congestion. My exhaustion is still there but knowing we are aligned on this change keeps me moving forward.

FINALLY someone is saying it. Its impossible to get parked if you come back early the road is just packed with commuters taking up all the resident spaces.

Makes total sense. That extra hour would help us out massively when trying to get to work.

Living on Tregarvon is a nightmare in the mornings. Need this change asap.
