We residents of Brodrick Road between Trinity Road and St James’s Drive ask Wandsworth Council to review our parking arrangements and prevent heavy lorries using our road as cut-through.
This short part of Brodrick Road is at the extreme end of Zone D1 which only covers the Bellevue Village area. Consequently, when Brodrick Road is full, residents can only look for parking along one stretch of St James’s Drive and into the Bellevue grid. This means we often have to park at a great distance from our homes. Additionally heavy vehicles, including skip lorries, are using our narrow residential road as a short-cut.
We ask the Council to investigate ways to prevent heavy vehicle traffic and alleviate parking pressures for residents of Brodrick Road by:
- Extending Zone D1 into D2
- Making parking only available for residents on one side of Brodrick Road
- Preventing heavy lorries from using our narrow road

I am truly overwhelmed by the momentum we have built together. This progress belongs entirely to all of you who spoke up about the issues on our street. Seeing neighbors come together like this is something I never thought possible when I first started this.

Its time for the traffic stress on Brodrick Road to be reviewed. Any action on "little Brodrick' will have an effect on 'big Brodrick' as both roads are used as a cut through to avoid the traffic lights on the junction of Burntwood/Bellevue/Trinity. A review of traffic direction, parking restrictions is long overdue.
The parking on the road is an issue throughout the day/evening. The road rage/congestion issues seem to peak during school drop off times - particularly between 8.15 and 9.30am and then between 3.15 and 5.30.
Brodrick Road should be made on way, in the mornings with school drop off is a car park with people screaming at each other for who has priority
A long overdue review as to the options to solve the clear problem of parking and use of "little" Brodrick is needed.
Perhaps making Brodrick Road one way may help
Something has to be done about parking on Brodrick Road - it is really abused as a cut through making it congested and dangerous for residents.

The issue of parking is a problem in the short park of Brodrick Road reflecting: lack of individual slots (serial offenders of cars taking up 2 spaces); lack of extension of D1 into D2 (as flagged in petition); consistent building works (& related skips & vans). Lorries using the road as a cut through at peak times add to congestion on the road & invariably aggressive behaviour (the current placement of the humps only serves for acceleration in the middle of the road to the point where cars can pass).
