You never put yourself in a place that is vulnerable. Being in the shower with an individual who has male parts is putting myself in a vulnerable position. I never allowed any male to baby sit my child as I would never put my child in a position in which something like that could ever happen. I don't care how well I know that person as my first priority is to protect her. That is not the only issue...no person with male parts has a right or CONSENT to see my body as that should only be viewed by my husband nor do I want to see male parts other than my husband's. We are married and how does this law honor marriage and family...It doesn't bring honor at all but rather disregard and disrespect It is simply a violation to my rights, my daughter's rights, my husband's marital rights .....so many levels of insanity in this law. At the YMCA there are many girls running around in the locker room without parents with them and so is it right to expose these young girls to such things as seeing male genitals in the shower, is it right to make these children vulnerable and put them in a place in which such things could happen? Is it right to place a young girl in a place in which she is vulnerable? Is it right for an individual with male parts to view a young girl in the shower or locker room naked? NO IT IS NOT RIGHT PERIOD!! I don't care if they think their gender is a women if they have sex organs that function as a male they shouldn't be allowed to be in a place which makes women and their children feel violated or uncomfortable. One of my best friend is gay who is not a transgender but if he was do I want him to see me in the shower or for me to take a shower with him, I think not!

For the safety of children and women, we need separate bathrooms for each, male/female.

this is not ok nor is it safe for women and children. Give them their own bathroom but do NOT allow them to share.

I have no problem with people who truly identify with the opposite gender. I do, however, have a huge problem with the many predators that will use the transgender identity as a means to prey on and abuse young children and women alike. It is our responsibility as adults to protect children in our society. If transgender people truly cared about others above themselves, they would petition for a third option bathroom instead of opening up the possibility of innocent ones getting abused.

I had a discussion about this subject on another sight and I was accused of being Paranoid & phobic because I didn't want men walking into a public restroom that I was using and told I should wait until I go home to have bodily functions...like I can just hold it for hours on end while out shopping...
Then when I objected to being in a public dressing room or shower such as a workout facility and that any man that wanted to could come in and I didn't even have the right to question it. I was informed that public dressing rooms and showers are a privilege not a right and it was suggested I wait to dress or shower at home (tough to do if you use the pool...I'm suppose to go out in freezing weather in my wet bathing suit)! But what I found profound is that as a straight woman I'm don't have the right to expect a safe place in the public to go to the bathroom or dress or shower, but not one of those people ever suggested that the Transgender person hold their bodily functions until they go home or not use the public dressing room or shower's because they didn't feel safe using the other gender rooms...
I was repeatedly told that they are not being PC, just striving for equality, but how equal is it for me to loose my rights for someone else's?
What I don't get is why is the only solution to this situation is to let Transgenders (men dressing as woman) use women restrooms, dressing rooms and showers? Why not make public places put in a gender natural restrooms, dressing rooms and showers? If we had had this attitude when the handicap people wanted access to public facilities our Government would of told them...you'll just have to figure out how to use the facilities the way they are, but no, it was mandated that all public places be accessible to wheel chairs!
Stop this craziness!!!
