Tampa is not a college town. Living off campus is inconvenient, especially for those who do not have cars. The University says that they will send shuttle buses to pick up students who live off campus, but we all know that the shuttle buses are not reliable and then we are at fault if we are late for class.

UT has always treated commuter students like second-rate citizens and now they are lumping upper-classmen into the poor treatment. Not only is UT pushing students into potential dangerous parts of town (because nicer is more expensive), but it also means having to lose time commuting, money on a car and insurance, and safety.

This policy is very short sighted. You can get the freshman in but if you can't keep them what is the point. Ludicrous that this would be how they treat their bread and butter!

If you come from out of state and don't have the means to pay for off campus housing and don't have a car that is not right. We all had to live in the Hojo freshman year than so should the new incoming ones. If you want to have them live on campus renovate smiley. Plus, Vaughn spent all this money on new dorms, the freshman WILL DESTROY THEM.

Clearly whoever thought up this housing arrangement didn't consider the many out of state seniors with no cars and no experience living in an apartment. Maybe if their gateways/pathways class taught things that actually matter, like signing a lease or budgeting for off campus living, students would be prepared.

i would like to still live on campus. I have been here for 3 years and my 4th year i believe Senior should still get the priority of where to live

UT is accepting more students than that the University has capacity of, this is why parking is an issue and regristing to classes as well and now housing...

I was a member of ROTC relying on my scholarship for money when my family had none. I could live on campus for only $500 a semester while if I loved off I would be struggling with multiple jobs, a rigorous major designated by the Navy, and many hours dedicated to my ROTC program including a daily commute to USF. I lIved on campus all 4 years and would be in serious debt without it. I hope UT overcomes their greed and thinks of the few students who give 4 years of hard work and money to this school and don't transfer.

As a graduate student that has also attended UT as an undergraduate, I find this rule to be completely ridiculous and unacceptable. Forcing upperclassmen (many of which are from out of state) to live off campus is simply not fair. When agreeing to attend this university, we agreed to have proper housing as well. I believe that this rule should be revoked and housing requirements should stay as they are right now so they are fair for all levels of students.

Upper grades should be rewarded with good housing, not demoted as the years go by! My daughter has worked very hard for the last 3 years and should not have to worry her senior year about housing. Rediculous! !!

Freshmen don't deserve kitchens. Those perks are EARNED by credits. Outside of campus is not safe enough for me to live in an off-campus hotel. The UT community strives on having the majority of its students on-campus. If you cannot house everybody, cap the number of students your letting in. There's a lot of value in exclusivity.

If you're an upperclassmen or if you have already been living on campus, you shouldn't have to worry about not being able to stay where you live because of new students.

I went to UT for undergrad and I was fortunate enough to always get the housing I wanted. Other upperclassman should have the same privilege.

I'm a junior and I feel like I'm getting kicked off campus next fall and that my semesters that I've been at UT, credits and GPA are being used against me when just a semester ago they were used to my advantage when it came to housing. I do not have a car and I don't want to live in a hotel so how am I supposed to get to class and back every day if I live off campus without a car?

I'm sorry that my parents and I can not afford to live in expensive alternatives. Maybe I'll tell my father to pick up a 3rd job while me and my mother work 2 ourselves.

Not a good message to send potential incoming students -- "We'll treat you like royalty your first year and we'll value you less and less each year as your potential for revenue generation decreases." Shame on UT.
