Reverse the Housing Rule

Don't penalize students merely because they have gone to your school.

My daughter is in her last year, where is she going to sleep, her car? You shouldn't penalize students in their last years.

Build bigger dorms and less money on palm trees.

I am outraged.

This new housing rule is the stupidest thing ever.

This new rule is a lack of consideration for the upperclassmen. We've earned our stripes the freshman have not.

Probably the most lack luster inconvient thing UT could possibly due to its current students. No freshman should be able to simply move into West Kennedy or Palm. Living in the hotel is an experience, not a punishment. Most of my longest lasting friends lived in the hotel their freshman year.

This is absurd and shows that the University is interested in growing its population and not about maintaining a safe living environment for its upperclassmen.

Upper class students have paid their dues by living the HoJo, Austin, or other less desirable locations. It was presented to us as a privilege for Seniors to get priority housing choices. It is unfair to arbitrarily change the rules and give priority housing to freshmen. Reward the seniors who have shown they are committed to graduating from UT.

This is absolutely absurd

Higher credits should earn better housing.

This sounds like a great hardship for the upperclassmen. There's enough stress in their lives without this arbitrary change being forced on them!

I am entrusting UT to provide the best academic and residential experience for my daughter, including her safety. As a freshman, she was at HoJo due to overflow housing, She is now on campus finding her niche and now there is a risk of having to go back to the hotel or find a place off campus; neither which is not an optimal college experience. This is the result of the school poorly managing the over enrollment of the school. With the costs of attending UT, the Administration should be embarrassed with the way that they have handled over enrollment and overflow housing. This does not happen at other reputable schools!!! Please reconsider this new policy for the sake of the kids who are already commited and part of the UT community!

this is ridiculous

i do not believe we should be punished for staying with our school longer and keeping a good record on campus. Also this would cause younger students to get the newer, better, and cleaner dorms which they will certainly not handle with care. Is that really what you want? Even if it is passed, as an student-athlete it really helps to live on campus and I believe this rule should be amended so athletes hold priority in housing.

Commuter parking is already a mess, forcing all of these on campus juniors and seniors to move off campus will just intensify the situation and there will be no parking for anyone.

As a commuting upperclassman - this change of policy is ridiculous and only shows Vaughn's desire to line his own pockets. Unacceptable.

College is hard enough. Don't make it tougher on these kids

I support the request to change the policy.
