Cornwall is being over developed with properties that are not for local need and, as in this case, in areas of outstanding natural beauty!
The natural beauty of Cornwall, with associated habitats, is being destroyed!

Apparently the applicant discussed a single storey house but was inexplicably told by planning it would not likely gain permission as out of keeping with local farmhouses. How much better suited to this site would a low-level stone-built property have been that looked as if it was just another ancillary farm building?

There seem to be so many anomalies with the process by which this decision was reached, that you begin to lose faith in the measures that have been put in place to preserve and protect the beauty of the Cornish landscape, and the people entrusted to carry them out.
