He should resign his chair and place on the council out of respect for the post and the community. This would insure no conflict of interest and job integrity.

I would like t see a review of the complete process from the parish council vote to the decision by Cornwall Council. If this property is permitted it is probably the thin edge of the wedge and we will end up looking like Rock. Big glass houses everywhere

Please, please do not allow this building to go ahead. This site is on iconic headland in an Area of Natural Beauty enjoyed for its beautiful views and tranquility by both man and nature.

I fully support this petition and wrote a strongly worded objection to this planning application to build on Rame Head. Subsequently I have become very concerned about the process by which the application was approved and believe that a full review of the council planning meeting should be carried out. I recommend that everyone who has the authority to vote for or against planning applications should read through all the public comments to become fully aware of both the strength local opinion against any development on Rame Head and also the challenges such applications pose to the local neighbourhood plan, to the planning laws of Cornwall Council Council and to
the national framework of protection and preservation of AONB sites.

Maker with Rame Parish Council should have ensured the residents of the Parish had an opportunity comment on the proposed planning application before they the Parish Council voted on it. They failed to provide such an opportunity and thus should consider their conduct and procedures as inappropriate and shameful. Equally those councillors who attended the planning meeting and voted for the development clearly demonstrate that there is a belief that they have a better understanding of planning regulations than a professional Planning Officer who strongly advised against the application proceeding. This disgraceful state of affairs will result in a development in an AONB which should never have even been considered.

I am aware this is not actually on the headland but am fearful that it sets a standard for more builds in our Area of Outstanding Beauty available to all. It concerns me that I hear Evolving Places is somehow involved and am already concerned how they wish to proceed for financial and personal gain in this local area.

So many reasons why this is wrong. Firstly, there really is no need for this house in the first place. The applicant's parents are already elderly. If it is he who is in fact doing the farming, then surely the parents should be the ones to move out of the tenanted farmhouse - they could buy a small place locally for less than this 'agricultural dwelling' with its balconies and 27 windows is going to cost to build. The applicant could then live in the farmhouse - if it really is so essential for him to be on hand 24/7 to manage wild ponies, which were previously managed by Mt Edgcumbe Country Park simply sending someone up once a week to count them. Surely the applicant would not be willing to invest the huge amount of money to build this property if he was not confident that, whenever necessary, the agricultural tie can be quite easily lifted, as there are essentially almost no agricultural workers locally, and almost certainly none who will be able to afford to buy a property of this nature, even at a reduced price.
The precedent this will set for building on greenfield sites in the AONB is almost unimaginable. The facts speak for themselves when you see that one of the letters of support for this application (a huge number of which were from people directly connected to the applicant) was from the boss of Evolving Places - the development company that now owns a large chunk of the nearby and equally loved Maker Heights, also within the AONB, and who has previously mooted plans to build dozens of houses there.
How will Maker with Rame Parish Council ever have a leg to stand on in future when it comes to applications of this kind?

This AONB area should be protected for future generations. There must be plenty of other positions where a farm house could be built That would not interfere with the landscape in the way that this application would.

This is terrible. The land and the environment are so fragile, we need to protect this area from development certainly not encourage it. The fact that the chair of the parish council is the one putting forward the planning application stinks of corruption. I have lived in the area for most of my life and was not made aware of this until after the fact ? We should do everything in our power to stop this development in an area of OUTSTANDING NATURAL BEAUTY.

The Rames’ expansive areas are little developed and as such are valued and much used as an amenity by city dwellers from Plymouth.
The area gained international recognition for its unique landscape when used as a setting in the movie “Mr. Turner”.
The new farmhouse could be positioned more discreetly within the landscape.
