This is a truly shocking decision , which should never have happened , or even got to the stage that it was being voted on for approval in the first place . Talk about wheels within wheels .Of course the vice chair and other local parish councillors were in favour , as their Chair was the applicant . ! . The need for an " Agricultural dwelling " was required they said . This looks more like something off Channel 4's Grand Designs ,and as others have said will set a precedent . Voted on by Cornwall Council 7/6 ,after they had to have a second vote ( re run ) ,as some of them were not sure what they were voting for !! .You couldn't make this up could you ,but sadly it is true . This decision must be reversed to stop this development ,and prevent similar future developments happening in AONB .

The NDP is supposed to be a legal agreement between elected representatives and Cornwall Council and should not be sidelined but sacrosanct once an agreement has been made.

There are many unanswered questions about this planning application from before it was lodged until it was approved. This calls into question the credibility of the Parish Council and Cornwall Council in approving this appalling intrusion into the AONB. But who is to investigate the unsatisfactory background to this decision?

Even under the terms of the latest government planning guidance, AONBs are supposed to be protected from this kind of random development. Councillors have a duty to stand up, be counted and to stop such blatant disregard for protecting our environment. What were those 7 councillors thinking when they voted this through?

This is truly an area of outstanding natural beauty, which my late husband and I often walked. To grant planning permission for this monstrosity, is to set a precedent for others to also to be built in the vicinity. It also denies us all the opportunity to continue to visit this beautiful site. No amount of 'persuasion', be it financial or otherwise, should allow anyone to develop on this site, thus denying every one of us the right to freely enjoy this beautiful area.
