Reverse King George County's Decision to Start School Prior to Labor Day

I am signing this petition asking to change the start date for at least this year. Maybe state you will start that for 2017 school year. It is hard at this point to get time off to get my kids ready to return to school as so many people in my office are still taking family vacations at this point in time not to mention that we had already booked ours for just a week prior to school starting. Thank You for reconsidering this decision

Start school after Labor Day! If you ask for input into the calendar from citizens, consider the data - don't just dismiss it and say it was not intended to be a vote...if our input was not considered, why ask for it?

My grandchild attends school in King George and he should not have to start school before Labor Day. When I was in school we NEVER had to start before Labor Day.

I think school should start after Labor Day.What's the point of a vote and then turn around and do what you want anyway. Think what is best the the Kids.

I think my grandchildren should be able to go back to school after Labor Day so they can enjoy their beach vacation without having to worry about missing their first week of school. Also an earlier date is ridiculous, why take away from their summer excercise and pool time. They need those extra weeks of pool time and excercise and their parents pay for the pool time fee. Please reconsider.

Keep the original date in September !! It makes no sense to take away half of the kids summer! They get the same amount of curriculum taught to them no matter when they start! So why change it? !!

After labor day school should start.... What's the point of taking a vote if you go ahead and decide to go with the one with the least amount of votes....

Sadly, I signed a similar petition last year. I signed again. I prefer an after Labor Day start. I grew up with it, and I think I would've had fine test scores. Let our friends/neighbors take their rising Freshmen to College without having to worry about having to be back home because their younger children are starting school and have homework to do mid-August!

Totally disgusted with the actions and disrespect from the school board. They must be removed from their positions in the next elections!!

Aug. 15th, is not acceptable, after a calendar was released and families have made vacation plans. Now KG will have to worry about attendance instead of the SOL's.

The board did not do what we pay them to do!!!!! The voters voted and they chose the date least voted for.
