Achievement, especially from young people should be celebrated!

I just finished the book "A Gift of Failure. Allowing Your Children to Fail in Order to Succeed". I recommend those who chose this change to read this book and then change this new rule. Not everyone is alike in school and not everyone should look the same at graduation (except for the decorations on their caps) C'mon admins. I know you have a super hard job but this isn't right.

I have a Freshman, Sophomore, and Senior at Issaquah High next year. I want them to compete, excel, and be recognized for their accomplishments. If you want to get into top colleges and the best jobs then you need to be the best you can be and your accomplishments need to be recognized by a credible authority. That’s what’s happening for everyone else. Issaquah students will be left behind.
Reverse this ludicrous decision!

This is one of the very few things that school districts can do to honor students who like books. There are other ways to honor athletes, DECA, and other activities students are engaged in. Can we please keep something for kids who really like their books?

These young men and women are adults and embarking on college and/or independence. They don’t need to be babied. Please, allow those who hone their talent, work hard and demonstrate high achievement to be recognized!

Discouraging kids from doing is the most idiotic thing ever - from a mom whose daughter just graduated with highest honors from the Lake Washington Technical College in Diesel and Heavy Machinery program!

The decision to ban honor cords and stoles must be reversed. Children who excel must be allowed to show them, everything cannot be 100% equal, otherwise we are raising children who expect everything to be handed to them, whether they earned it or not.
