The decision to ban Honor Cords and Stoles must be reversed.

Reverse the decision to ban stoles and cords! This is insanity and is not real life. The kids that have applied themselves consistently and achieved great results in their grades and extracurricular activities deserve to be recognized for their efforts!

This is as bad as participation trophies. Outstanding achievement needs to be recognized and celebrated, not hidden to prevent poor achievers from feeling bad.

The honor students have worked HARD to earn their cords and all students had the same chance and opportunity to do the same!! Do not let our "everyone earns a trophy" society ruin this hard earned and well deserved tradition for them!

Please reverse this decision and reward academic achievers at graduation. That honor is something that they will cherish and likely keep for the rest of their lives.

Stop being soft on everyone.

This is outrageous. The fact that they took this away makes kids less motivated to work hard.

Taking away recognition for hard work, also takes away a primary REASON that people do the hard work in the first place. If you want to create an entire society of low-achievers, this is how you do it.

Totally disagree, hard work of a student should be recognized, they look forward to that moment in graduation, don't take this away, they will probably will stop working as hard!!

total disgrace...the IHS Principal should be held accountable for this decision as it's not district-wide.

Why shouldn’t people that actually work hard to achieve greatness not get recognized for it?

Taking away tradition & honor for students is a disgrace! A student who is awarded the long time honor has spent years and time to be recognized for their xedication & hard work. Shame on Issaquah High for even thinking about removing this honor!!!

People do win in life and others should applaud them with grace. Acknowledgment is key and it’s a component t of life and business . Please don’t dumb it down . Not everyone is a winner.

As an alumni of IHS, I am ashamed to see this new policy and feel as though students need to be recognized for their hard work. If you don’t receive one, you should’ve worked harder

This is very disappointing and does the opposite of preparing our kids to succeed in a competitive global environment. I thought that was the mission

Students who work their entire high school career to achieve and maintain a high GPA for their acedmics SHOULD be recognized.
