Reverse Decision to Ban Honor Cords and Stoles

I think kids that work hard and go above and beyond should get recognized.

I fully agree with this.

Recognizing achievement is part of life and prepares for adulthood. We all achieve differently and with our own unique and diverse skills, god given talents, and individual effort. We all have the equal opportunity though we all do not have equal ability. Some run fast, some are stronger swimmers, some have creative talents for the arts and some achieve academically. All to be celebrated, honored, and recognized. We should be teaching respect for these achievements, motivation and inspiration to achieve rather than mediocracy and uniformity. Let individuals shine!

Taking away a since of achievement make all students not want to achieve.

Cords allow students to show what they’ve accomplished over their four years, taking them away takes away their individuality and accomplishments

Is this like everyone gets a trophy or no one gets a trophy? The kids who earn these recognitions have worked so hard to meet and exceed what is required of them and this idea is ludicrous. Shame on this committee whoever you are!

Students work very hard to show their achievements during highs school. Please don’t take that away from them.

How disappointing! Issa quash is the first place we lived when moving to WA State 47 years ago and my daughter graduated from Issaquah High. It is actually insulting to all students especially those that are not able to achieve honors to take away the honors from those that do. It should inspire all students to do their best.

My daughter received a full running scholarship for college not only for her athletic ability but for her academic achievement. I applaud all children who work extra hard and have a dream.

Not having cords is so dumb and we should honor people’s acheivements.

This has been, and should continue to be a motivator for students to go the extra mile. Everyone benefits from recognition.

Recognize students who work extra hard to maintain their GPAs, volunteer, and participate.

Students who work hard and go above and beyond deserve to be recognized!

Let these academic achievements continue to be recognized at graduation.

Teaching accountability and feeling successful, those who achieve their goals should be honored. Teach our kids to be happy with their own success, it's a choice they make for themselves. Everybody is different, some students are more outgoing, some are introverted, so why shame the kids who are passionate about sports, clubs, volunteering, etc. In the working world you have your annual review and you strive to get that raise or promotion, the cords are the students promotion!
