So the balloons didn't launch Saturday and I said, "Now what do we do all day?" We used to go uptown and look/shop/visit. Didn't make ANY other event this summer even if only a couple miles away. who benefited from me financially this year? ONLY the grocery stores buying for our own "fest" across from the airport.

The balloon fest has always been a success BEFORE it was broken up.This year it was disorganized & such a let down from previous years. If it needed tweeking try to fix it but do not destroy it.

Wish the balloon glow was back at the Logan County Fair Grounds too! Who has the time to go to 3 separate events? I have things to do with family and grandkids and don't think it's right to take 3 weekends from family plans! I just didn't go to any of them this year.

I couldn't agree more that it isn't about volunteers...i know for a fact that this year they didn't even put out volunteer information until Monday. I'm no expert but less than a weeks notice is absurd!

Many times you can't fix stupid. One needs to fire them. If there is a difficulty with volunteers, One need to look at who is doing the asking and how volunteers are asked and treated. But this festival brake up is not really about volunteers. It more about control. Coming from a third generation Business owner operator in Lincoln/Logan County I am saddened to see this silliness. I LOVE Lincoln so lets try to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

Had family come from VA for the Art Fair portion....did not find out there wasn't one until Thursday when I picked up a brochure from a local vendor. I agree all the events should be combined so there's plenty to keep people busy. When the balloons don't fly, it's pretty boring.

I was disappointed with the reduced number of artists/vendors at the art fair this year. Equally disappointing was the lack of attendance. Coincidence?? I think not. I heard artists talking about their plans to not return. The separation of events has proven to be a failure...return to the combined events before we lose the vendors and the audience willing to travel to attend!

The city of Lincoln is based on history and tradition. New things are welcome, but this big weekend has always been a great event for Lincoln and Logan County families and friends, and many people come from out of town to attend. Perhaps taking some of the recently added attractions , such as barbecue and beer, and separating them would start something new at start of summer :)
