Nearly 400 families in the process of adopting internationally have been left stranded by Imagine Adoption, an agency licensed by the provincial government of Ontario. These familes were obliged to apply for international adoption through agencies licensed by the government. The MInistry of CHildren and Youth Services of Ontario is currently looking into whether they will and/or can return our adoption files to the adoptive families. Apparenlty this is due to "confidentiality" reasons. We would like the Ministry to immedtiaelt act to return the files to families who paid for them. In this way we can somehow mitigate some of the cost of restarting files with other agencies. Many familes do not have the time to wait for the government to transfer their files to another agency. We want our files now!
