TO: Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and Attorney General Robert McClelland Australia\'s record for overseas adoptions is an international embarrassment. We currently have the second lowest rate of intercountry adoption in the world. We also have some of the longest waiting lists, and the most costly fees with couples spending $50,000 to adopt a baby. I support The Sunday Telegraph

Seeing this kind of momentum brings tears to my eyes because it reminds me that I am not alone in this fight for a family. Knowing so many people see how broken this system is gives me the strength to keep pushing for the change we deserve.

I have been reading the messages you are leaving and the heartbreak of these families waiting for years is honestly overwhelming. We are currently working on a proposal to present to the Attorney General to prove that this system is failing the very people it should be helping.

Ridiculous that we make it so hard for loving couples to give a child a home. My neighbors have been waiting 4 years and it is just heartbreaking
