I am greatly concerned about the influence of money in the decision-making process in Washington. I fear that because of the outrageous amounts now necessary to campaign for office, elected officials are beholden to those who contribute the most rather than to their constituents. No individual, whether elected or non-elected, should be allowed to coerce our elected representative through the use of uncontrolled funds collected from undisclosed sources. I object to the notion that the richest among us have the freedom to buy influence the rest of us cannot afford. Please, all Senators and Congressmen, sign an oath swearing that you will work to bring back a truly representative democracy.
