Relentless national pressure to divide people by race (Critical Race Theory/DEIB) and to permeate culture with LGBTQ ideology is infiltrating HPS. We have both progressive and conservative people in our community. As taxpayers, ALL of our children deserve an excellent education without the undermining of parental values. We can accomplish this with paramount focus on academic's and reinstating a transparent partnership between parents and the school.

*It is a breach of parental rights to teach value laden social theory and emotional development concepts. (SEL)

*It's wrong to allow books and computer programs that include sexual and racist ideology, into our classrooms.

*It is inappropriate for staff to promote their political opinions, racial theories, or sexuality theories to minor children.

*We reject racism and bullying, as well as preferential treatment, for any child or group. Rather than addressing theoretical problems, we implore our administrator's to address specific problems with specific remedies.

We urge Dr. Doug VanderJagt and the HPS Board of Education to urgently scrutinize curriculum, reestablish staff professionalism, and recommit to unwavering high standards for our student's achievement and behavior. RETURN Hudsonville Public Schools to NEUTRAL GROUND!

Reaching one hundred signatures confirms that many families in our district share a desire for a school environment rooted in academic clarity. This milestone reflects a collective wish for our schools to focus on core learning while respecting the diversity of values held by parents. I appreciate the time each person has taken to lend their perspective to this conversation.

Reaching our first hundred signatures represents a clear consensus that the current direction of our schools requires a serious reassessment. Please consider directing others to this page so we can demonstrate the true breadth of our community concern before we present these findings to the board.

Keep schools academic. It’s a parents rights & job to teach morals in their home, in the manner they see fit.

DEIB/CRT/SEL does not belong in the schools!! You are destroying HPS and are not working with the parents with whom you work for. I pulled my kids from HPS and they will not be back!!

If parents can’t teach their kids how to be decent, what makes you think the schools can? Stick to math, science, history and English. I’ll make sure my kids are good people.

HPS is what brought us to the area 24 years ago. It breaks my heart to see the wonderful school all my kids graduated from go downhill so badly. Keep CRT/DEIB out of our schools.

If this type of shaping of the minds continues I will plan on voting down ALL tax increases in the future as well send future children elsewhere

Schools are for education, not indoctrination. We ask for neutral, non political education for our children and leave parenting to the parents!

HPS board and superintendent: Never forget that you work for the parents of this community not bureaucrats in DC or Lansing. If you can't agree to that then you need to move on and let others that represent us take your place.
