It is clear from those who grew up with the Center; the Gary Crooks Memorial Center was a hub of vibrant community for all, especially the children. It needs to be given back to the community!

The Gary Crooks Memorial Center was brought to fruition to honor the memory of Gary Crooks. It thrived to give back in opportunities which would have not been given had it not been for the center! I myself don't understand the concept of the local Housing Authority utilizing it as Administrative Offices"!! Give it back to the Community which it was made to serve!!

As one of the former teachers and the Program Coordinator, I am warmed by the efforts I see here. Beyond the arts, the Art Center was a refuge from all the rigors of P.T. life. That by itself is reason enough for reclaiming the building. The arts are essential for the progress of all humanity...it can be the most spiritual activity one has in life. Those young children are now in their 50s and regard their time spent as a highlight of joy in those days. It needs to be relighted. The pandemic has drawn us to a spiritual awakening and an assessment of what counts in our world let's make it happen!

Gary Cooks was builded for the community, with an Art Center to bring positive influence to the children of the community and to have something constructive to do. I think we should bring the Center back so we can bring the community back with it. Bring back the Positive influences in the community right now!! all have in that

Signing the petition because kids need a place to go other than the streets. When I grow up in PT we had the teen center in building 14 and the Gary Crooks center to help keep us kids out of trouble and off the streets. We had people like Walt Luckett, Gene, Warren Blount etc helping mold and give directions to, as well as the Ms Jessie Marrow, Cesar Young and David Roebuck.

Yes Gary Crooks was the community Arts. I was taught to play drums there. And the kids were cared for and we're taught different things.Yes it was a place of fun. Please give back Gary Crooks to not only the P T Barnum community but also to the people that have the same spirit of teaching and helping the kids and Adults that didn't live in P T Barnum. Give it back

Community Space v. Office Space - a simple choice.
PT's families, youth, and friends are entitled to have their community center back in its entirety and should be compensated for the time the Center was not able to be used by the community with some renovations and improvements.
