The athletic department just confirmed that Brennan's jersey is officially being retired. I am overwhelmed knowing that his legacy will hang in the rafters for everyone to see. Thank you for helping me ensure he is never forgotten.
We are petitioning to get Brennan Weikel's jersey, #39, retired. Administration is the one who makes the decisions on things such as these. So let's show them how passionate we are about paying respect to a well loved teenager.
Seeing 500 names on this list hits different when you remember exactly how much Brennan meant to all of us. I never thought we would reach this point so quickly. This shows the administration that his memory truly deserves a permanent place in our arena.

Seeing the momentum building towards five hundred signatures proves just how much Brennan meant to this community. We need to keep this energy moving until the administration finally notices how many people want to honor his memory.

Our grandson, Brennan, loved football, 39. His parents bought him a necklace with his football number that he always wore. We would be grateful to have his number retired in his honor. Thank you.

I would appreciate it and it would mean the world to me. I raised Brennan since he was 5 years old, Brennan was my son. And cannot express how devastated I am. Love you son.

I didn't know him but it's just a respectful thing to do for him and his family. An act of courtesy. I don't believe another player would feel right wearing that jersey anyhow. I'm for it.

We are planning on giving his home jersey to his mom and putting his white jersey in a frame and have his varsity football team players sign and hang it somewhere in the building and retire his jersey but not his number.. Not set in stone but a good idea

Brennan was a dedicated guy. He always worked his hardest for whatever he was doing even when the odds were against him. To retire his number from Weatherford football would be an absolute honor, because it would always remind me of his accomplishments on and off the feild. We have lost a great friend, so why not honor his memory of his favorite times.

I believe that such a great guy like Brennan should be honored by the preservation of his jersey number. He loved and resorted the WHS football program, and his team. Now it is the team's and the program's turn to repay the respect and love for #3@
