Speaking to the staff at the presentation, they have confirmed there is no control in place over what happens outside of the shelter, nor the end-to-end journey of the people who use the shelter.

Oppose the proposed site for a shelter of 50 people at 66 Third st since space is limited and cannot accommodate parking for emergency vehicles and firetrucks and staff also danger of increased crime and not feasible for spending so much money for small number of residents it will serve

All Government Policies must be evaluated not on their Intent but on their Results…putting a Homeless shelter in the middle of a Residential neighbourhood has been Catastrophic for local residents. Resulting in Murder Robbery Rape Child molestations beatings of Seniors public defecation public drug use .One Horror after the other being perpetrated & the Government Bureaucracy does not give a Damn . See the dystopian hell that the Bathurst Queens Quay / Waterfront neighbourhood has become since a homeless shelter was inflicted upon us at 545 lakeshore blvd west

I've lived in New Toronto for a decade now, and every hope I have had for this community to thrive has run into issues around placing housing in areas that make no sense for our community. Instead of making this a place that feels safe for young urban families, we have to deal with explaining complex situations to our children, who shouldn't be exposed to drug use, violence, and other drug paraphernalia. We have to deal with shootings on our street, break ins and car thefts. I do believe that the best cities take care of their most vulnerable, but I also believe that New Toronto has stepped up time and time again to absorb community services. It should be fairly distributed along the Lakeshore corridor.

There are dozens of other places in Etobicoke that would be better suited for the health and safety of these individuals. While mental health and homelessness unfortunately affects all ages and demographics, place a centre in a community geared towards children, ie. schools and parks less than a 5 minute walk in all directions, is a complete oversight (or not which would be embarrassing and without consideration for our youth).

There are 2 sites on Islington near Bering avenue that also appear to be future homeless shelters- no consultation with any neighbors

A Shelter directly beside a seniors apartment complex and within a block of elementary schools, tiny tots park and private residences is absurd Our community is just starting to recover from the impact of drugs and crime and this proposed shelter at 66 Third street will put the gravest strain on residents My home is on Second Street and am nervous and highly opposed to The building of a shelter in our neighborhood and community. 66 Third is currently the only meter parking lot in our community and needs to remain a parking lot for visitors to our lakeside community

I do not support this in South Etobicoke where we don't have these problems

Shelters supporting drug use so close to seniors and children is a negligent and dangerous.

I am a senior living in the area and have a grandchild going to Second Street School and I am extremely concerned about the shelter in regard to risk of harm, abuse for the more vulnerable Ensuring the safety of my granddaughter from external risks as well as incidents in the shelter. Security from crime, drug use or other harmful activity. Adequate stable funding for operation and not just start up fees. it's very close to a school, daycare and many other reasons

I do not support this location for a shelter.

the area is too small for a shelter and it is too close to schools and Retirement home This is a very vulnerable community . The safety of young people and seniors will be compromised and their safety will be at risk.

This shelter is way too close to schools where my son will go to and a park where he plays. I do not want him to be at risk. We can already find a lot of items related to drugs so it will be worse for sure and I do not want it as a parent. Also the shelter is right next to the senior home so I also worry about those people who live there.

Stop the drug centres from being close to kids and seniors !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
