In todays world, common sense should show that this should be a non-starter. After serving Canada for 27 years with the RCMP, the experiences of "end result" of drug use is staggering. Our children did as they were asked by us and stayed drug free during the formative years. There are so many negatives in young lives today, including peer pressure, bullying and so on. I know that the Government is missing the mark on this one.

Decriminalize not legalize...contradicts government efforts to be more intrusive on what people are allowed to eat and drink.

my neighbourgs are huge pot smokers. They obviously don't care if we are having diner or having Young kids over, they just consume. I can rely on the authority to come over and intervene but with legalisation, i fear not being able to enjoy my back yard.

It will be particularly irresponsible to legalize the social use of cannabis until both the health consequences, and its implications with impaired driving are fully understood by the general public and the judiciary. Currently, the effects of cannabinoids on the developing brain in young persons, and the effects of its smoke on the lungs are outstanding medical issues. In regards to impaired driving, the increase in both drug potency and its occurrence in impaired driving cases have increased dramatically since it was first reported in Canada in the mid-eighties.

We already have enough motor vehicle fatalities from drinking and driving. Legalizing marijuana will only encourage people to take up the habit.

Is it just me or does anyone else see the idiotic and sick irony of a Provincial Government berating sugar as a totally unhealthy product for our youth and young adults and a Federal Government of the same political stripe legalizing and promoting high-potency pot to the same group of people. While I agree sugar abuse is harmful, legalizing recreational pot is far worse.

Very concerned about age, how the police will be able to determine driving limits - breathalyzer and children in schools.

Police are responsible for enforcing the laws not making them. Our politicians and PM are listening to empty drums, because they make the most noise.

I'm very concerned about regulating impaired by drug driving + the risks that will pose to road safety. The message legalization sends will encourage drug abuse + inherently cost millions like cigarettes.

We must be the laughing stock of the world to legalize marijuana; very, very bad move and it's going to show soon enough and we'll be known as the "pot people of the world"!!!! The rules and regulations that were taken to curb addiction are now erased. People now have their new "legal" high replacing alcohol and cigarettes!!

I support medical marijuana. The world does not need recreational marijuana. There are so many issues around mental health today without adding to it unnecessarily. Marijuana wiil add to the problem and increase the habit to go to some substance to relax and enjoy life !!! You can get high on laughing with friends, accomplishing something good, helping others, watching a good movie, eating your favorite meal or simply listening to your favorite music. Why does society need recretional marijuana !!!
Are we really there ? Please think about it seriously.
